The existing metal roof was severely damaged by a hail storm and the homeowner was worried about water damage. The roofing professionals at Roof Top Services jumped on the chance to help, starting with a thorough roof inspection.
We discovered the client’s existing terne metal roof needed to be replaced. The homeowner wanted the same roofing material, but that type of terne metal is no longer available so he chose a new copper roof. Once we had the design created, Roof Top Services got to work. Our roofers first tore off the metal roofing, all flashings, and underlayment. We found several water damaged plywood planks.
After the old roof was removed, we installed a high-temperature ice and water shield in all valleys and soffits, as well as synthetic, felt over the whole roof to protect against further moisture damage. Next we installed the new copper roof over the house and garage, as well as several chimneys and vents. Our roofing experts fabricated the copper panels on-site with custom flashing for the chimneys and vents, even installing counterflashing to ensure a watertight flashing.
After completion of the roof, we installed copper snow guards on each standing seam to further protect the home. After a final clean-up and debris removal, the job was complete. The homeowner was very pleased with their new copper roof, but they were especially impressed with our 10 year workmanship warranty.
